A special-order gown is ordered from the designer for you and generally requires additional time for production and delivery.
An off-the-rack gown already exists in our boutique and can typically be purchased and taken home much sooner.
Neither option is inherently better. Your wedding date, preferred gown, sizing, budget, and personal priorities will help determine which route makes the most sense for you.
Your stylist will explain every available option before you make your decision.
-
If possible, we recommend beginning your wedding dress search approximately 9–12 months before your wedding.
Starting early gives you plenty of flexibility for designer production, shipping, alterations, accessories, and any unexpected changes along the way.
That said, there is no need to panic if your wedding is much sooner, our stylists will help you find the perfect gown within our collection, no matter your timeline.
-
Absolutely.
We believe there is a bridal solution for nearly every timeline.
Depending on your wedding date, your stylist can help you explore available special-order gowns, designer timelines, rush possibilities when available, and our selection of off-the-rack wedding dresses.
Whether your wedding is more than a year away or only a few months out, tell us your date and we’ll focus on the options that realistically work for you.
-
Absolutely.
If you’re still early in the process and aren’t ready to purchase, our Educational Bridal Appointment is designed specifically for brides who want to explore, learn, and understand their preferences without feeling pressured to make an immediate decision.
-
Production timelines vary by designer, gown, season, and available options.
Your stylist will review the expected ordering timeline for your specific gown before your purchase is finalized.
We believe you should always understand what you’re purchasing, when you can expect it, and what comes next.
-
Once your special-order gown is placed with the designer, we’ll keep track of your order and let you know when your wedding dress arrives at Vincent Elizabeth.
From there, you’ll schedule the appropriate next steps, including your gown pickup and alterations planning.
-
We believe beautiful wedding dress shopping should come with both encouragement and expertise.
Our stylists are professionally trained beyond traditional sales and bridal styling, with education in body and fit engineering, gown construction, fabrics, communication, and client experience.
We don’t simply tell you that a gown looks beautiful, we help you understand why.
Why does one bodice feel more supportive? Why does one fabric move differently from another? Why does a certain silhouette create the proportion you love? What can realistically be changed during alterations? Why might one gown be perfect for what you’re asking for while another simply isn’t?
We share the why so that when you make your decision, you understand it wholeheartedly.
-
There is no single reaction you’re supposed to have.
Some brides cry. Some immediately know. Some experience a quieter sense of certainty. Others simply realize that every dress they try afterward is being compared to one particular gown.
Your stylist will help you talk through what you love, how the gown fits and feels, whether it supports your priorities, and how it aligns with the way you imagine yourself on your wedding day.
There is no right way to say yes.
What matters is feeling confident in the choice you’re making.
-
Absolutely! Many of our brides travel to St. Petersburg specifically for their bridal experience, and we’ve built our process with out-of-state brides in mind.
From your initial appointment through ordering, payment, gown arrival, and pickup or next-step coordination, our team will guide you through each stage so the process feels clear and simple from start to finish.
We’ll make sure you understand your gown’s timeline, sizing, ordering details, payment options, and what to expect once your dress arrives. If you’re traveling back home after your appointment, we’ll also help you plan the next steps so you know exactly what needs to happen and when.
Whether you’re visiting from another part of Florida or flying into the Tampa Bay area for your appointment, our goal is to make your Vincent Elizabeth experience feel seamless, thoughtful, and worth the trip.
